[NEWS] 120522 B.A.P Dominates a Taiwanese Magazine, Proof of Hallyu Stardom! Within 4 Months of Debut?
Group B.A.P made the cover page of Taiwan's number one Hallyu magazine 'Trendy' within 4 months of debuting.
'Trendy' is a hallyu magazine affiliated with Cite Media Holding Group, a large media publishing group that has a market share of nearly 70%. They are issuing 30,000 copies in Taiwan alone.
Not only is it the best among hallyu magazines, but 'Trendy' has also been known to take the first or second in overall Taiwanese magazine sales. The magazines are also licensed to be sold in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, while also being exported to China.
'Trendy' also has the prestige of being a representative magazine of the Great China Region, selling about 100,000 copies in the area. Though B.A.P has only released two singles until now, they've already enjoyed the honor of standing alongside major sunbaes CNBLUE, Big Bang, etc and in May, Shinhwa, on a magazine cover.
An associate of 'Trendy' magazine stated that "It's the first time that a Korean person who has never visited Taiwan or debuted in Taiwan has modeled for the cover."
The May issue devotes the maximum number of 10 pages to B.A.P's members (Bang Yongguk, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jongup, Zelo), satisfying the anticipation of fans in the Great China Region.
After releasing their second album 'POWER,' they have dominated the iTunes hip-hop album chart and enjoyed the honor of being ranked 10 on the Billboard World Album Chart.
